Outlook Express E-mail
Outlook Express can handle multiple accounts at once. All
e-mail downloaded from the multiple accounts will be delivered to the Inbox.
You can set up seperate Inbox Rules to determine what happens to those
mails. See the Inbox Assistant page for more
information on how to do this.
Adding Mail Accounts
(this is best done off-line)
- Open Outlook Express
- Click Tools > Accounts
- Click Add > Mail...
- Type the name you want displayed on your e-mail e.g.
Joe Smith
- Click Next
- Type your e-mail address e.g. yourname@yourdomain.com
- Click Next
- Choose POP3 from the drop down list
- The incoming mail (POP3) server is mail.goldspace.com
- The outgoing mail (SMTP) server is mail.goldspace.com
*NOTE: In some cases, your ISP (your internet connection
people) will not allow you to use our outgoing (SMTP)
server. In this case, you will need to contact your ISP
and find out what settings should go here.
- Click Next
- Choose Log on using :
- Type your username e.g. yourname/yourdomain.com
- Type your e-mail password (This is supplied
with your account, and is the same as your login password)
- Click Next
- Choose a Friendly Name to identify this account
in Outlook Express
This can be anything - it will not appear
on the e-mail
- Choose "Connect using your phone line"
or the appropiate connection for your Internet Connection.
- Click Next
- Choose "Use an existing connection"
- Click Next
- Select a connection from the list
- Click Next
- Click Finish to complete the setup.
- IMPORTANT NEXT STEP. Click on the folder tab for SERVERS,
under the last section, Outgoing Mail Server, put a check
in "My Server Requires Authentication". Click
SETTINGS next to the check box and fill in your login
and password (which should be the same as above).
NOTE: This step is may or may not be necessary if you
are using your ISP's outgoing mailserver (SMTP). Click
OK until you are out of the settings box.
You might like to configure the Inbox
Assistant at this point, to keep the e-mails seperate
when you download them.
